Well, I do first want to thank all the folks who have posted on this board:  You have all made my decision making so lovely easy.

I am now the proud owner of a spotlessly clean 1995 R1100RSL in Dakar Yellow!  28,500 miles and climbing (err, rather rapidly!) and gorgeous!

Find Pix here:  http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kegwin2001/album?.dir=/685f&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kegwin2001/my_photos

The list of mods the former owner made are pretty significant:

Lazer CF exhaust and chip
Fox front shock
Bitubo Rear shock:  FULLY adjustable one-off shock too!  (compression, rebound, preload & Height adj.)
New Pilot Roads
Corbin Rumbleseat
New brake pads, SS lines...
Color matched hard bags
+ Full recent service of valves, throttle boddies, and rear-end lubes (don't get kinky here!)

And just the most lovely purrrrrrrrrr of the motor!

Just wanted to say Hi and thanks!

That is one handsome bike. Well done, and welcome aboard.

(Now you're going to have to change your screen name from "BMW K" to "BMW R", eh?)

Welcome to our world. Great photos. With an aside to dbrick, why BMW R? I suggest reversing the order to keep the K, as in "Killer BEEmer."

Take care,
Chris

Welcome to the board.  That is one nice scooter.  I'm envious that you appear to be in Arizona.  Great riding.  Been to Jerome lately?

Thanks for the comments guys.  Actually, I live in So. Cal. (Anaheim Hills if you know the area).  I bought the bike in Phoenix and rode it home - 385 miles!

So any dirt you are noticing on the bike is accumlated during my 385 mile return trip home.

All I can say is that the bike is simply exactly what I was looking for.  The ride home was smooth, relaxed, comfortable, and controlled.  It was just lovely!  My Fiance' even commented that she had never seen me look so comfortable on an MC before...(she had followed me back home in the car).

As to my name, well, I have used the same BMW-K since my K-bike days 5 years ago and I hate the thought of trying to change the name on all the different boards I am on!

But!  BMW-R has a very nice ring to it!
