In light of possibly loosing are forum,I trudge forward with a question, perhaps best answered by Ed Miller,or any veteran traveller that knows....
As well as I can tell, via internet research, radar detectors are legal in Alberta,British Columbia, and New Brunswick,is this still true?,if displaying one in plain sight, does this lend itself to a higher scrutiny? While it is not my intention to ride oblivious to the local speed limits,I still am prone to a twist or two when touring the country side, far away from schools and populous, thanks in advance for the help

They are allowed here in Alberta, and I believe they are in BC too, but I'm not positive on that.

They are allowed in BC, I know this because I was stopped by the RCMP and they issued a warning to me for going a slight bit over the limit. When the mountie saw my Beltronics, he asked how the range was on it.
I replied that it worked fine at up to about a mile. I did say I was surprised they pulled me over for going 5 over the limit though.
My detector was beeping but I figured 5 over wouldn't warrant a stop so I kept my speed the same. Sheesh.
Oakland, eh?

They are really anal out in BC about speeding. On top of that the speed limits are really low on most of the roads. I'd avoid it if it wasn't such great riding out there. Alberta is pretty generous with the speeds, but the majority of the roads are too straight. Just can't win.
